2018 Jeep Compass Under the Hood Battery

![]() master Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 5,437 Port Huron, Michigan | Wife got a 2018 Jeep Compass with the 2.4L engine. I always look at how to jump our cars just in case she needs it done. I read the owner's manual and looked under the hood. I don't see a positive remote post and the pics attached show the battery area with the cover on and cover off. The negative post is near the bottom of the pic (the front of the jeep) and positive is near the top. Am I missing something here, I just don't see it. Didn't notice another post anywhere in the engine compartment either. Manual says it's by the battery. Pics got rotated, so the firewall (top as I took it) is to the left. ![]() Its Lost Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 20,074 Niles , Ohio | My 12 Journey has 2 post inder the hood to attach to.The hot is covered with a piece of pastic so as it cant be accidenty grounded.I had to look fora while.The PT you had to remove the air filter box above the battery.Journeys is in the wheel well PTs was under hood.Rocky |

![]() master Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 8,624 MI, usa | You can use the large stud next to the red plastic piece with the 2 screws holding it. Don't use the large stud with the cable attached. All those colored blocks are fuses. jump on the out put side and you'll blow them. |

I see these blown all the time at work. I wok in the electrical garage at Chrysler in Auburn Hills debugging prototypes. |

Purple is the actual battery terminal and not sure a jumper cable end can get into there. Red and blue look small, like a side post and should work. I was actually thinking it was the green when I first looked at it. |
